Kasilof River Salmon Drift Boat Fishing Trips
We offer an unparalleled drift boat Salmon fishing experience! The Alaska Kasilof River comes from the waters of Tustumena Glacier and Lake tucked 15 miles inward of the Kenai Peninsula. King of the River will drift you down the Kasilof river, known to local residents as one of the top salmon fishing areas for big game fishing.
The Kasilof River experience offers three major runs during the Alaska fishing season. Below we will highlight these in order to help you achieve the highest success you desire!

| Notice: One king per day/three kings per season (only fish with a hatchery-clipped adipose fin, as evidenced by a healed scar, may be kept: Average is 97 percent hatchery king/3 percent wild king in the Kasilof) Wild and Hatchery kings can be kept in July. Wild/Hatchery silver salmon can be kept in August and September. |
First Run in Middle May to Late June blasts full of the famous Alaska King Salmon! Anglers can expect Kings averaging 15 to 25 pounds charging up the Kasilof. These salmon are primarily return hatchery fish, and are among the best tasting Spring Chinook salmon found in Alaskan waters.
Second Run Late June to July 31st boast a solid rush of trophy-class King Salmon with an average weight of 35 to 50 pounds or bigger! The Kasilof River is not like that of the Kenai River where hundreds of fishing guides are hosted. The Kasilof is only home to about one dozen guides on the whole river. This best kept secret of the Kenai is your ticket to great fishing and one with the peaceful nature of Alaska.
Third Run August 1st to August 31st is Silver (Coho) Salmon Fishing! Hold on tight! Alaskan Silver Salmon average 7 to 10 pounds. A good year when ocean feeding is at its peak, Silver Salmon can shoot up to an average weight of 15 to 17 pounds. Alaska Silver Salmon show off to anglers with their acrobatic antics by cart wheeling and leaping time after time upon being hooked.
